Unit 35 M2

In Photoshop I got pictures of celebrities I got from the internet and cut them out using the magnetic lasso tool. Put the pictures of the celebrities onto a picture of a galaxy background and made them black and white. The them layered them I faded them in together. On top of the photos I put pictures of a galaxy background and partially erased them so it looked like the celebrities were faded into the background.
I added the text using the draw tool as I couldn't find a font that would fit with the picture.

Unit 14 D1

iPhone 5:

4-inch widescreen multi-touch display.
8 megapixel camera.
10 hour talk time battery life.
Bluetooth and WiFi
Siri

Samsung Galaxy S3:

4.8-inch screen.
10 hour talk time battery life.
Bluetooth and WiFi.
8 megapixel Camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has better memory and a bigger screen making it better for gaming. The Apple iPhone 5 has a better camera with a BSI sensor and a more sensitive touch screen. The iPhone looks the best with an industrial design whereas the Galaxy S3 is made of plastic. Overall I think the Apple iPhone is the best because it has a better Camera and Siri.

MacBook Air

13 inch.
5 hour battery life.
1.35kg.
Dual core 1.7GHz

Samsung Series 9

13 inch.
5 hour battery life.
1.15kg.
Dual core 1.6GHz.

Both laptops are very good quality however although the Samsung Series 9 is slightly cheaper and weighs a little less the MacBook has more programs and runs smoother. They are overall similar laptops and both have their own good and bad features. I would choose the MacBook Air because of the programs that you can only get one apple computers.

Apple iPad mini

7.9' screen.
Bluetooth and WiFi.
Thickness - 7.2mm.
Facetime.
10 hour battery life.
Siri

Samsung Galaxy tab 2
7.0' screen
Voice control
Bluetooth and WiFi
Thickness - 10.5mm
5 hour battery life.

The iPad mini has a longer battery life however on the Samsung tab you can link all your files to your Samsung phone, Samsung TV and Samsung laptop. There is also the price the iPad overall has some better qualities but it is also over £100 more expensive. I would choose the iPad because it runs smoother and has a longer battery life.

iPod Nano
£129
5.4mm thickness
2.5' screen
16GB storage

iPod Classic
160GB storage
2.5' (diagonal screen)
£199
61.8mm thickness

What iPod you would choose depends on how many songs you would put on it. If you didnt need much storage get the iPod Nano as it is cheaper but it holds less songs. I would buy the iPod classic because although it costs more you can have up to 40,000 songs on it.

Copyright law-

Copyright is when someone else copies your work and claims that it is their own or if they have took it without your permission. It is not copyright if you give the original owner credit and say that it isnt you own work, doing this means that what you are doing is not illegal. It is illegal to display work that isn't yours on the internet claiming it is yours is illegal though. The copyright law applies to music books and branded content (e.g. company logos, business names etc).

Intellectual Property-

This is designed to help people to protect their ideas and designs. For example a song belongs to the person who wrote it and you need to have permission from them to copy ideas. If you don't have permission then it is illegal. Copy right is the most common type if intellectual property.

To send a contact from one phone to another you need to select the contact that you want from your contact list, you can then send it via Bluetooth. To do this you need to go onto the contact, go into options and select 'send' and then 'Bluetooth.' This will take you to a list of every Bluetooth device in the area you select the one you want and it will begin to send. The good things about sending things in this way are that its is quite fast, free and easy to use. The negative things are you have to be in range of the person who you want to send things to sometimes it doesn't work if the devices aren't compatible also using Bluetooth can be dangerous because people can access personal files on your phone if you aren't careful. Another way you can send a contact to someone is through messaging you just have to attach the number to a message, this can cost but you can send it to anyone by using a message not just people in close range.

Mechanisms that have been put in place to prevent and control social issues are...

- You pay for text messaging and multimedia messaging.
- To protect emails you have to put a password on your account, this is the same with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and other social networking sites.
-Adjustable chairs so you won't strain your eyes or neck from sitting at a computer too long.

Mechanisms that have been put in place by the law...

-Data security to prevent personal files from getting lost
-All files are backed up so if they get accidentally deleted they won't be lost.
-Identity theft and hacking are punishable by law.
